$159,000 Settlement in Open Meetings Case

This story in the Seattle Times describes a settlement in the Open Public Meetings Act case against the City of Shoreline. The City settled the case before trial for $159,000 in attorneys' fees to the citizens. The City spent approximately $400,000 defending the council members.

Note: Allied Law Group represented the citizens in the case. As far as we know, this is the largest amount ever awarded in an Open Public Meetings Act case.
