Public Records Show ... District Might Have Known About Alleged Rapist-Teacher's Past

This Tacoma News-Tribune story describes how public records might contradict the Tacoma School District's claim that they didn't know about a teacher's alleged past. The story reports "officials knew of issues in [the teacher's] past earlier than they’ve previously acknowledged, personnel records appear to show."

Just another example of why access to public records matters. And another example of why many school districts and teachers' unions really dislike the Public Records Act.

UPDATE (09/18/07): Public records show more things of interest in this case.
